Aoife was the 2025 Provost’s Fellow in Curating at The Douglas Hyde Gallery of Contemporary Art, where she worked collaboratively with the Gallery’s team across exhibitions, new commissions and the public engagement programme. This fellowship entailed hands-on work experience, self-directed research and mentorship. As part of her fellowship, Aoife curated Reclaiming Nature in 2026, a public event consisting of a new artist commission, film screening and a panel discussion examining humans’ relationships to nature amid environmental and ecological collapse.
Aoife has worked as an Exhibition Mediator at the Irish Pavilion during the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2022 and as an International Intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice for two months in 2023. She also has experience supporting and facilitating education events for Sculpture Dublin’s Creative Engagement Programme, The Ark Children’s Cultural Centre, Rua Red South Dublin Arts Centre and The Chester Beatty Library.
Aoife holds a BA in Fine Art Sculpture and Critical Cultures from National College of Art and Design (NCAD) and an MPhil in the History of Art and Architecture from Trinity College Dublin. She developed her interests in gender, art and the city culminating in her MPhil dissertation entitled; The Lifecycle of Public Art: The Anna Livia and Molly Malone sculptures from Inception to Public Reception, 1988-present. Aoife presented a paper on this research at the 2024 Irish Association of Art Historians Annual Symposium and at a History of Art & Architecture Research Seminar in 2025 at Trinity College Dublin. Aoife will be presenting a public talk on this topic as part of the Dublin Festival of History.
